Where Are We Going, And Why Are We In This Handcart?
In Genesis 8:22. God said: “Never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have done. As long as the earth endures, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
American Republican Congressman John Shimkus quoted this biblical passage, adding “I believe that’s the infallible word of God, and that’s the way it’s going to be for His creation.”
This fundy Shimkus is on the US Congress’s Committee on Energy and Commerce, shaping America’s plans to deal with climate change. What America does — for the next few years at least — still affects the rest of the world.
So a large part of our future is in the hands of this guy, and people like him.
Now I’m really scared.

Even worse, the 2008 Gallup poll showed that 44% of Americans believe that “God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so” Bring on the Davey Crockett hats.
